You will learn techniques such as Glass Cutting, Transferring Designs, Decorative Techniques, Colouring and Fusing. Sarah will show you how to hand draw onto glass and also how to use frits. Don’t worry if you aren’t sure what you would like to make we can work together to come up with a design.

Evening Courses – 6 weeks

Beginner

Join me for a 6 week beginners course to learn a range of different techniques you can use in fused glass. Over the first 4 weeks I will teach you 4 different techniques and the final 2 weeks we will create a final piece where you can use your new skills learnt over the past few weeks.  You will have many different pieces to take home and show off of your new found hobby!

The 6 weeks cost £180 for materials, tuition, tea, coffee and homemade biscuits.

This course is ideal for complete beginners or those who have previously attended another class but would like to learn more.

Over the course of the 6 weeks you will have the time to explore the techniques you learnt on the beginners course and begin to become more confident and knowledgeable about how glass fusing works. Come and join me on my Pattern and Patch weekend where I will show a number of techniques to create patterns on glass. We will make several different pieces on the first day which will be fired overnight ready to use to create your very own glass patchwork the following day. You will need some cutting skills to be able to do this course as cutting will be required on the second day to create your final piece.

This course gives you the chance to explore the possibilities of creating your very own glass to use in projects and begin to explore ways to play with colour, transparency and texture on the glass. We will be using Bullseye Glass for this class and I will have a range of colours in stock for you to use – however if you have your own colour palette you would like to use, please contact me so I can advise you what you will need.

The course costs £150 for the weekend running from 10 – 4pm each day. The course will include materials, tuition, tea, coffee and homemade cake.

Glass as a Canvas

Love painting and drawing? Why not explore creating your own artwork on glass. I ran this course whilst out in Japan exhibiting my work, it was a lovely day and something I would love to share here in the UK. Throughout the day I will share my inspirations and why I love to use glass as my canvas. I will include some demonstrations of how I work and also show you a range of my own work.

We will head out in the morning to gather inspiration from the local area of Tewkesbury, looking around the town, along the riverside and the nearby countryside. Upon our return to the studio I will do a demonstration of range of techniques that can be used to transfer your ideas to the glass. You will then have time to develop your sketches and then create your final piece throughout the afternoon. At the end of the day your pieces will then be fired ready for collection the following week.

The course costs £95 and includes materials for the day, tea, coffee and homemade cake. You are welcome to bring your own drawing materials and a camera too if that is how you like to gather your inspiration. The course runs from 9am to approximately 5pm.
